Pico airport (PIX), also known as Madalena, is located along the northern western coast of the island, between the capital and the village of Santa Luzia.

The airport is located 8 kilometres from the urban center of Madalena – it can be easily reached by taking the regional highway Er1. The airport operates regular connections with Lisbon via TAP Portugal, as well as regional flights between the Azores islands, in particular with the airports of Terceira and Ponta Delgada, via SATA Air Açores
